God Is Calling The Nations To Repentance

“The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, if it does evil in MY sight so that it does not obey MY voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it. Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, thus says the Lord: Behold. I am fashioning a disaster and devising a plan against you. Return now everyone from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.” (Jeremiah 18 v 7-11)

The Book of Leviticus is primarily a book of God’s instruction for worship and a guide book of Holy Living. It was given to Moses approx 1445-144 B.C.

The overwhelming message of Leviticus is “YE SHALL BE HOLY.”

Sacrifices, Priests and the Sacred Day of Atonement, opened the way for the Israelites to come back to God. The Jews were commanded to worship Him, knowing that God would also be honoured in their lives as they related to each other.

The Book of Exodus concludes with the erection of the tabernacle, which was constructed according to the pattern which God gave to Moses. How was Israel to use the tabernacle? The instructions in Leviticus answer that question, and were given to Moses during the month and twenty days, between the setting up of the tabernacle (Exodus 40 v 17) and the departure of the people from Sinai (Numbers 10 v 11).

In the book of Leviticus we read of purity laws, rules for daily living concerning family responsibilities, sexual conduct, relationships, morality, vows and instructions for the festivals. These were special, regular and corporate occasions for remembering what God had done, giving thanks to Him, and re-dedicating their lives to His service.

Why Such Detailed Regulations?

God had a purpose in giving these commands. He was teaching the nation of Israel  a whole new way of life, cleansing them from the many heathen practices they had learned in Egypt and restoring true worship of Himself. The strict guidelines were intended to prevent Israel from slipping back into their old lifestyle. In addition, each law paints a graphic picture of the seriousness of sin and of God’s great mercy in forgiving sinners.

The many principles stated were intended to encourage a change in inward attitudes, as well as outward actions. From these laws and statutes, we can learn much about God’s nature and character. At first glance, Leviticus appears irrelevant to our modern advanced high-tech world, but God has not changed, and His principles are for eternity! Although people and society do change with time, every individual despite our age, gender, social class, race, culture and ethnicity MUST still apply the principles to our life yesterday, today and tomorrow. God is the same in the book of Leviticus yesterday, as He is today and will be forever!

Time Is Fast Running Out

Where are you going?

When life here on earth is ended, and time has rung its bell

Will your soul travel upward to regions of bliss

Or depart to the depths where all joys you will miss?

Where are you going?

From the moment we are born, you will agree this is true

For some, time is very short, while for others not quite long

But it passes so quickly and then it is gone.

From the time when we are born, to when we die

There is a space God has given, to prepare us for the sky

We are all born as sinners, the Bible declares

And wise is the one, who heeds and prepares.

The Lord Jesus Christ, who is God’s only begotten Son

Died on a cross for your sins to atone

Come now and repent from the depths of your heart

For forgiveness is free, you can make a new start.

Called unto holiness, church of our God

Purchase of Jesus, redeemed by His blood

Called from the world and its idols to flee

Called from the bondage of sin, to be free.

Come right now to Jesus wherever you are

In office, home, in field, street or car

Take heed to this message, no longer delay

For time is running out – it may be your last day.

When God Calls You

‘FOLLOW ME< AND I WILL MAKE YOU.......’ (Mark 1 v 17 *NKJV)

If you think you are not qualified to be used by God, start changing the way you think!

When Elijah called Elisha he was ploughing. When Jesus called Peter he was fishing. To follow God, Elisha had to leave farming and Peter had to leave fishing. Can you imagine a disciple’s wife saying “How are we going to pay the bills?”

Following God is like stepping out on tissue paper and discovering solid rock underneath. But you will never discover the rock unless you are willing to step onto the tissue paper. When God asks you to walk away from a security base that’s been part of your life, you take your talents with you.

Matthew, an accountant, took his pen and wrote the first book of the New Testament. When David went to Saul’s palace he took his harp, and went on to write Psalms we still sing today. That is why it is important to know who is calling you, and to have it confirmed by trusted leadership. If you run before the starter fires the gun you will be disqualified from the race.

When God calls you, keep these four things in mind;

1.      There is a price to be paid. If you are willing to pay it you can have God’s best.

2.       There is a path to be walked. Each step is a step of faith.

3.       There are principles to be observed. You have got to God’s will, God’s way, in order to be blessed.

4.      There is a promise to sustain you.

“........Do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with wherever you go.” (Joshua 1 v 9 *NIV)

The Missing Element

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14 v 6)

Many successful and unsuccessful men and women are finding out the truth expressed by the inspired writer of Ecclesiastes; namely, that we may have an excellent education, be a sparkling success, and have a world of pleasure at our fingertips without really being happy or truly satisfied. Why is this? Because God has built into us, a vacuum which only He can fill!

Sin-sick souls are starving daily

Craving something deep within

Only God, through His Son can fulfil them

Give them peace and forgive their sin!

Friend, we are a dying people living in a perishing world. Our deepest longings cannot be met by earthly things that only will pass away. Did you know we all come into this world naked? Did you know, each of us will also leave this world naked? We all need God. And the only way to come to Him is through faith in Jesus Christ. Have you received Him as your Saviour?

Did you know, it is great to be loved and encouraged but sometimes you may question, does anyone care for me?

Did you know, it is great to have dreams, aspirations, goals and material things to look forward to? But after all the idolatry, hype, fame, revelry, money. holidays, status, spending spree, food, education, gambling, drink, adventure, smoking, wealth, immorality, trophies, fraud, medals, scandal and criminality, life will still leave you feeling empty deep within.

Did you know there are tens of thousands of people around the world who are hurting, because they simply fail to love God, and to love their neighbour and each other?

Are you feeling dejected, rejected, discouraged, heartbroken, guilty, shameful, worthless and un-valued by others who have broken their love, trust, respect and promises to you?

When was the last time you heard or read good news on the television, radio, internet or newspapers?

Do you ever stop to reflect at what is really going on in our homes, communities, society, country and nations of the world?

Do you ask yourself, is there any more good news in existence? Is your life dull and boring? Is it lacking purpose and direction? Have you ever thought, I wish things were different?

The good news is, that it is a blessing to be loved, cherished, valued, respected and encouraged. Did you know JEHOVAH, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, THE CREATOR OF THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, LOVES YOU AND I?

Did you know, you and I need to desire and possess the GREATER DEPTH OF LOVE WHICH GOD WANTS TO FILL US WITH?

Are you hopeful? It is nice to have wonderful things to look forward to, but in today’s world of uncertainty, suffering, devastation, economic downturn and collapse, evil and wickedness, how certain can we be about our future? Hundreds of thousands of people, both young and old, risk becoming part of a lost generation.

I have a great need for God; I have a great God for my need!

Live And Experience God’s Abundant Life
