Jesus Christ Has Set Me Free

Don’t cry for me

For now, I’m free

I am following the path

Which God has laid for me.

I turned my back and left it all

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work or play

All tasks unfinished must stay that way.

I am free at last

No longer enslaved in sin

And found everlasting joy

Filled with love and deep peace within.

I now look forward tomorrow

With a  smile, a laugh, a kiss

No longer burdened with times of sorrow

Soon these things will be endless bliss.

My life is full and enriched much

Good times, good friend, a loved one’s touch

Lord, I lift my heart in gratitude

Hallelujah! Jesus has set me free.

The Cross of Jesus

Thus far did I come

Burdened with my sin

Nor could I ease

The grief that I was in

Until I come hither

What a place is this.

Must here be

The beginning of my bliss

Must here, the burden

Fall from off my back?

That bounded to me, crack!

Blessed cross

Blessed sepulchre

Blessed be the man

Put to shame for me!

There is no one on the cross

There is no one in the tomb

Because the price has been paid

And the Son has been raised

We are now free from sin

That once held us captive.
