“Therefore by him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to Go, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to his name.” (Hebrews 13 v 15)
Praise is an expression of faith, it’s a declaration that God’s in control of your circumstances and situations. Praise is not something you engage in simply when you feel like it. The Bible says we are to offer the sacrifice of praise to God always. The more we praise, the more it pays dividends.
Praising god is not reserved for church on Sunday alone. It should be a lifestyle at home, at work, at school, at college, at university, everywhere you are. Praise brings God’s prescence, along with his direct intervention. Anybody can praise God when everything’s fine, but you also need to learn to praise Him when your back is against the wall.
If you want to shake off principalities and powers, see doors open and chains break, begin to praise God in spite of the situation. It is not a matter of emotion and feeling good, it’s a matter of faith. It’s not something that comes naturally, it’s something you choose to do.
When you are down and depressed there is no incentive for your natural mind to praise God. It will actually encourage you to remain in misery and feel sorry for yourself. But that is completely opposite to what you should be doing. A praise filled environment stops Satan in his track, because he knows God lives in that kind of atmosphere.
