Further Insight Into The Bible

Published on by simon weston

The Bible is a book of books, the story of God. It is God’s way of having people come to know Him, and His plan for mankind, His chosen and special people. It is not about organizations, but individuals, Old Testament and New Testament believers who by faith will form the true family of God throughout eternity.

The Bible reveals that God has existence from eternity past to eternity future... that He is supreme, knows all, is all knowing, all present, all powerful, and without any equal. This self-existing God is revealed to be a tri-unity, with the father having created “In the beginning... the heavens and the earth.” It is also revealed that in that same beginning, the Son “was the Word” and “the Word was with God,” and “all things were made by Him.”

The Holy Spirit likewise was present in that beginning, as “the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” This same Spirit of God is the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, who “dwells with you, and shall be in you,” ie the One who lives within the heart of every believer.

The Bible also tells of Lucifer (Satan), to whom it would seem that God gave some degree of dominion over planet earth. Then Lucifer fell (Job 1 v 6-12; 2 v 1-7; Isaiah 14 v 12; Ezekiel 28 v 12-19).

The great message of the Bible is Jesus Christ, that He came to this earth to live a perfect sinless life, to teach us the truth, and then to die as the true Passover Lamb, as the innocent sacrificial atonement for our sins. Thus the scriptures boldly proclaim, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16 v 31).

The Bible at first may seem difficult for the average person to understand. As however, the reader yields himself to the Holy Spirit, who will come to dewll within the believer, the Spirit of God will lead the reader first to Himself, and then to know God more fully and into the understanding of His master plan. The Holy Spirit will glorify Jesus and show the reader God’s perfect love in the compassion of Christ and in His touching of needy lives by His holy and beautiful teachings and by His miracles. The reader’s eyes will be opened and he or she will come to see the Jesus who fulfilled the Messianic prophecies of the Old Testament (John 14 v 21, 26; 15 v 26-27; 16 V 8-15).

The reader will also discover that the Old Testament is not boring reading, but it is the foundation for believing in Jesus, as he is seen in the ancient prophecies and types. This is true because “Christ is in the Old Testament concealed, and in the New Testament revealed.” Jesus Christ is then seen in the New Testament as the true and sinless man, and as the true and faithful One, God the Son-our King, our Prophet, and our High Priest.

The Bible is God’s sacred message of Mankind, it is often referred to as the God’s Word. The Bible is not really of human origin, but rather Holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. The depth of this message is so vast that, although the message of salvation from sin may be in its essence simple, yet for a greater comprehension of God and a closer walk with Him, many readings of the Bible are required with the Holy Spirit guidance. It is thus my prayer that each reader will seek that deeper understanding by diligently reading and studying the sacred pages. May it bring new joy and blessing into your life.

“Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” (Revelation 1 v 3)
