Celebrate Jesus Celebrate
“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5 v 18)
Let us celebrate! What does this mean to us who have established a personal relationship and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ? Do we take time out to celebrate the gift of grace that God has given to us; do we take time to recall and celebrate the blessings that God so faithfully lavish upon us? Is celebration an important aspect of the Christian faith – and if yes, then how do believers demonstrate this aspect of our faith?
The fact that we have been admonished to remember the works of our God in our lives, and to give thanks to the Lord in all things, the Bible provides sufficient clues that celebrations should be an important feature of the practice of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christians should take time to share in the pleasure of the Lord in respect to celebrating God’s blessings, gifts and grace given to us over our lifetime! The conversion of a soul from sin to righteousness, the healing of a life that has been sic, the birth of a child, the passing of an exam, the reward of employment and material possessions, the joining of two-persons in marriage, the fact that many generations are present in church, the founding of a new church community are all vital blessings, which should inspire the informed practice of celebration and thanksgiving amongst the redeemed.
Let us turn away from complaining, grumbling, moaning and start celebrating God’s love, salvation, mercy and grace in our lives and amongst our communities. This will undoubtedly give God reasons to pour out more blessings in our lives. I encourage believers to celebrate and expect to receive from God His response to our continual offerings of praise and thanksgiving.
