Jesus Christ (The Greatest Christmas Gift) And Light Of The World

Published on by simondisciple

“In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.” (John 1 v 4)

There is no other time of the year quite like christmas. Homes are decorated with lights, gifts are given to loved ones and favourite recipes are cooked to perfection , in celebration of the birth of Jeusus Christ. It is a joyful time of the year when we hear so much about how it makes people want to be more generous, loving, kind and joyful more than usual. But what is the true christmas spirit?

Jesus Christ was not an ordinary baby. He was God’s gift to us. His birth was God’s way of saying to mankind

‘This is how much I love you; enough to send My only Son to earth for you, to die for your sins so that you can know me, your Father, and have the good life I’ve always wanted foryou.’

God wanted the best for us, that is why He gave His best to us. Jesus was the greatest gift to mankind, because  not only did He have something special within Him, making him pure, holy and without sin. His sacrifice, death and resurrection has enabled mankind to be reconciled back to Almighty God.

Why is the life that was in Jesus Christ ‘the light of men?

Death brings eternal darkness and only Jesus Christ eternal life planted in us will keep us alive in His new kingdom for eternity. Jesus Christ came to earth to offer mankind the hope of eternal life. It cannot be bought, only recieved as a gift. But Jesus gives it only to those who want it – All who welcome Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives are reborn, spiritually, recieving new life from God. Through faith in Christ, this new birth changes us from the inside out, rearranging our attitudes, desires and motives. Being born into the world makes you physically alive and places you in your parents family. However being reborn makes you spiritually alive and puts you in God’s family.

Something wonderful happens in the spirit-realm when we recieve Jesus into ourlives. Our heart is illuminated with His presence and as we continue to talk with Him, read His word, and allow it to change us from the inside out, we begin to take on His characteristics. We eventually become lights in a dark place. The light of God in our lives is what makes us different to others!

Have you asked Jesus Christ to make you a new person? This fresh start in life is avaialble to all whom believe. Make a difference, shine your light  and have impact with the illumuinating message of Jesus Christ.

A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle. Therefore keep the candle going and become a blessing to someone else.
