Let Your Light Shine
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28 v 18-20)
According to research conducted it is estimated that there are more than six billion people living on the earth today, and each person need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Followers of Jesus Christ are the carriers of the gospel – the good news that is meant to change the world. Personal morality is not enough, belief is not enough, Christian community is not enough, worship is not enough.
When we committed ourselves to following Jesus Christ, we also commit to living our lives in such a way, that a watching world would catch a glimpse of God – His love, justice and mercy – through our words, actions and behaviour. God chose us to be His representatives.
God called believers to go out, to proclaim the good news – and to change the world. Living out our faith privately is never meant to be an option.
“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” (Psalm 119 v 130)
The light of Jesus is shining brighter and further than ever.
This generation has grown up with Google, Facebook and Android. They act, talk and relate differently at so many levels, largely due to the influence of digital technology. Believers likewise need to recognise the need for innovation when sharing the Gospel.
