Monitor Your Attitude

“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2 v 5 NIV)

Life can be a perpetual barrage of ‘things’ coming at us, beside us and past us. Giving, serving, loving, leisure, pleasure, ministry, family, business, work, church, travel, studying, praying, reading, meetings etc ask for our time and demands our attention. Sometimes our schedules and commitments can leave an impression that everything is impossible, or at the least very difficult.

The good news is that God wants to do more than we can imagine. He longs to take our impossibilities and turn them into possibilities. When an error of judgment makes a situation appear unrecoverable, God can and will turn it around. When worry wants to paralyze us, God can bring us freedom. When confusion and doubt wants to raise its ugly head, God will be the lamp under our feet and a light onto our pathway.

However to overcome tests, challenges, trials, setbacks, disappointments, sufferings etc your attitude is a vital factor.

What Attitude Do You Project?

Are you an Escapist or a Realist?

Are you Problem-Centred or Solution-Centred?

Are you Fear-dominated or Faith-filled?

Are you Assertive or Timid?

Are you Introspective or Action-Oriented?

Are you Double-minded or Decisive?

Are you Sluggish or Diligent?

Are you a mere Dreamer (wishful thinker) or Dream-Activator?

Are you a Specialist or Generalist?

Are you an Optimist or Pessimist?

It is worth remembering not to lean on your own understanding, intelligence and wisdom. The Bible tells us ‘as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he’ Jesus Christ was humble, willing to give up His rights in order to obey God and serve people. Like Christ our attitude and character must reflect love for God and for others. Therefore listen to his still small voice at all times and seek God’s guidance in His Word.
