Take The Name Of Jesus With You
“After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.” (Mark 16 v 19-20)
The most influential people in the sight of God are soul winners. As a soul winner, the Lord is your defence. He divinely protects and giving you confidence and assurance as you go about His business of witnessing and telling the Gospel message.
You therefore must make your life count in the kingdom of God. What else could a follower of Jesus Christ live for, if not the Gospel? The bible tells us to ‘seek first the kingdom and its righteousness, and all other things shall be added unto you’ (Matthew 6 v 33). Let everything you do in life result in kingdom expansion.
“Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me, if I do not preach the Gospel. If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.” (1 Corinthians 9 v 16-17)
God needs you. He as kept you on this earth because He has a lot of people He wants to reach, through you. Take his message of love to everyone. Keep sharing the good news with those around you, for necessity is laid upon believers to preach the Gospel. Do it with courage, boldness and confidence. It does not matter who you are or where you are, just be committed.
“Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, be not afraid but speak, and hold not thy peace; For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: For I have much people in this city.” (Acts 18 v 9-10)
Believers are the carriers of the Gospel – the good news that is meant to change the world. Personal morality is not enough, Christian community is not enough, praying is not enough. When we commit to living our lives in such a way that mirrors Jesus Christ, the hurting world will catch a glimpse of God – His love, light, power, joy, peace, justice and mercy through our words, actions and behaviour.
God chose us to be His representatives. God called believers to go out to proclaim the good news – and to change the world. This commission was never meant to be done by Bishops, Pastors, Prophets, Evangelists and missionaries alone! Living out our faith privately is never meant to be an option. Jesus Christ did not shed His blood for an organization, an institution, a building, a denomination or a corporation. It was shed for you and me.
If you are willing to go where God leads, He will see you through the journey. In the process God will be glorified through you, seeing to your needs and ensuring you are successful in fulfilling His plans and purposes for your life.
